I am officially cheesed off at Metropolitan Ministries.
Two days ago, I asked the guy who approved me for food stamps, "How would I go about getting assistance for bus passes since I am homeless, and wish to be able to go job hunting?"
I was told to go and see the people at Tampa Bay Workforce.
I made a trip to Metropolitan Ministries the same morning, and asked the same question, and the guy gave me the same answer.
I do this on the next day, and they tell me, "We don't do that, unless you're in our program. Go ask your case worker."
Today, I go to the welfare office, and I ask, "How do I get bus passes, so I can get to and from my job interview, and hopefully my next job?"
The lady says, "We don't do that. Go ask HARTLine."
I go to ask HARTLine about these passes, and they declined to know anything about them.
I said to the HARTLine clerk, "Thanks for your time. I need to go see who's bullshitting me around here."
I go back to Metropolitan Ministries
on an unrelated matter, to ask about my clothing voucher that never made it over to where it should be. Two people in front of me asked the same bloody question, and the guy says to them, "You need to call the Sunshine Line. They can arrange for you to get a bus pass to get around.
Why couldn't he have told me this two days ago, and saved me some damn time?!
Instead, I go running about the city looking like a fool -- a homeless fool -- trying to get myself a way to get around without spending what little cash I have left.
BRAVO, you idiot.
